2021 MLB City Connect jerseys

With the NBA and Nike debuting City Edition uniforms that are designed to reflect the particular spirit and aesthetic of their individual cities we thought that applying the same principle to baseball would yield interesting and colorful results. So we held a draft for divide up MLB and got cracking on designs. Each uniform in this series seeks to reflect some aspect of the city as a fun digression from the normal MLB rhythm.
The Nike MLB City Connect Series will feature seven clubs that will have alternate jerseys.

1, Boston Red Sox City Connect jerseys

The Boston Red Sox will wear the yellow jerseys on Patriots' Day weekend, during which the Boston marathon takes place. The uniforms colors are blue and yellow, made to mirror the finish line of the Boston marathon. They also a feature a "617" patch on the arm for Boston's area code.

2, Miami Marlins City Connect jerseys
The Miami Marlins City Connect jerseys are inspired by the Cuban Sugar Kings of the 1950s, who lead the way for future Latin American baseball players in the major leagues. The jerseys are red with white stripes, white lettering and a teal drop shadow on the lettering. ike announced that their aim with the MLB City Connect Jersey is to celebrate "new baseball traditions and grow the game of baseball" and incorporate the team and the city. As such, Nike said their Miami design "is an ode to Latin America's contribution to baseball's rich history" and blends old school character with the "bold swagger" of Miami.
The lettering is in the style of the Little Havana neighborhood and the red is meant to represent the energetic feeling of Latin American nations, according to Nike.
The sleeve features a redesigned Sugar Kings patch.

3 Nike Chicago White Sox City Connect Jersey

The White Sox unveil new City Connect jerseys inspired by Chicago's South Side

“The White Sox’s identity – black and white, gothic script and pinstripes – is so strong that it has resonated beyond the game of baseball,” said Green. “Their uniforms speak to the strength and hardworking nature of the Southside of Chicago – without saying a word. We wanted to harness the Southside’s personality for the Nike MLB City Connect Series and introduce its attitude to newer, younger fans.”
The White Sox will debut the uniform Saturday, June 5 when they take on the Detroit Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The other teams that will don new Nike uniforms include the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Francisco Giants.
